Welcome to Robins Preschool.
We believe that every child is unique and full of potential. Our preschool provides a nurturing, engaging and safe environment for children from two years old to grow socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically.
We believe that early childhood is a time for exploration and our experienced staff are dedicated to fostering a love of learning through play-based activities that encourages our school slogan 'Nurturing Curious Minds'.
Our Philosophy
Child-Centered Learning: Our curriculum is planned so children can learn and develop at their own pace through challenging play activities. We adopt the interests and needs of each child that builds on their natural curiosity.
Respect and Belonging: We create a warm, inclusive environment where every child feels seen, heard, and valued.
Partnership with Families: We work closely with parents to support each child’s development.
Foundations for the Future: We focus on developing essential life skills—such as communication, problem-solving, empathy, and resilience—that prepares our children for school and life beyond. As our preschool is located on the school site, children have the opportunity to take part in school activities and events, helping them become familiar with the wider school community and easing their transition into Reception and beyond.
Whether it's through storytelling, outdoor exploration, creative arts, or group play, every moment at our preschool is an opportunity to grow and thrive.
We invite you to visit us and see the difference a caring, thoughtful early learning environment can make.
Physical Education (PE): PE Lessons with IG Sports every Tuesday for fun and engaging activities to develop motor skills and promote a healthy lifestyle. We also take part in our school sports Day where parents are invited to watch.
Science Week: Hands-on experiments and explorations to spark curiosity and a love for discovery. This year we took part in 'Fizz Pop Science' workshops.
Arts Week: Creative projects using various materials to encourage self-expression and imagination. This year we did: Dance, Djembe Drumming and Circus Skills.
Annual Festivities: Harvest Festival, Christmas celebrations, Easter Egg hunts.
Cooking with Classes: Joining classes within our school to take part in cooking activities to teach basic culinary skills and healthy eating habits. This also promotes engagement and partnership between the older children within our school.
Storytime & Literacy: Pairing with older children within our school for storytime to promote 'reading for pleasure'.
Outdoor Play: Daily opportunities for free play and nature exploration in a safe environment. We have a wealth of space on our school site to partake in outdoor learning.

Funding
We believe that every child deserves access to high-quality early education and we are pleased to offer funded places in line with government support.
Universal 15 Hours Funding
All children are entitled to 15 hours of funded early education per week, starting from the term after their third birthday. This funding is available for 38 weeks of the year and helps give children a strong start in their early learning journey.
Extended 30 Hours Funding for Working Families
Some families may be eligible for an additional 15 hours, giving them a total of 30 funded hours per week. To access this extended entitlement, eligible families must apply for a 30 hours code through the government’s childcare service.
We are registered to accept these working family codes.
Preschool Extras
We can, of course, offer additional chargeable sessions for you above your funded hours at £6.50 per hour.
Please see the link here to our Fees Policy.
Supported Family Funding
We also welcome children from means-tested families who qualify for Supported Family Funding, which provides 15 hours per week of funded early education
