World War II
Goldfinch Class has been continuing their World War II learning this week.
We researched recipes that they would have used during their time of rationing and decided to make some energy balls.
The main ingredients were oats, grated carrot, margarine and a dash of Golden Syrup.
Everyone loved mixing, rolling and tasting these wartime treats. It was a great hands-on lesson about nutrition and resourcefulness during difficult times and the results were surprisingly tasty. If you would like to have a go at making these at home, you can find the recipe here.
