Phase I: National Workshop Series Virtual Kickoff Event
July 9, 2020
Goals: 
The goal of this event was to solicit the assessment of doctoral training in the United States by the leaders of industry, academia, non-profit organizations engaged in graduate education, and funding agencies. They met to specifically identify current challenges in STEM doctoral education and workforce development across sectors and to work together towards partnered solutions.

Phase II: National Workshop Series Virtual Event
March 16, 2021
Goals
Following the identification of essential skills for STEM Ph.D. career success and multiple potential pathways for improving industry-university partnerships for innovation in doctoral training, in the second event, workshop participants prioritized the skills and recommended a minimum skill set that should be adopted across disciplines and industry sectors

Phase III: Evaluation and Identification of  Deficiencies
Within the Current STEM Doctoral Training Programs
June  24-25, 2021
Goals:
Following the insights gained from the previous two workshops, the final workshop further evaluated deficiencies in the current STEM doctoral programs and suggested how to address them going forward.
