Members in the lab can gain advanced training in:
Neurophysiology and neurobiology, with specific focus on the mammalian olfactory system
Acute brain slice electrophysiology, including voltage- and current-clamp recordings, synaptic physiology, pharmacology, optogenetics, and chemogenetics
Advanced tools for neuroscience research, including genetically-modified mice, stereotaxic surgery and adeno-associated virus delivery, and intersectional molecular strategies for neuron targeting
Microscopy, including brightfield, fluorescence, widefield and confocal microscopy, morphometric analyses, and histological and immunostaining techniques
Olfactory-guided rodent behavioral experiments
Relevant software packages, including MATLAB, IgorPro, FIJI, Micro-Manager, Neurolucida, Illustrator
Experimental design, writing, and presentation skills
