This summer I was lucky enough to be back at Google and working with the Slicer team, based in Kirkland, WA. Because of COVID-19 my internship is entirely remote, but despite the pandemic it was an incredibly enjoyable experience. My project was to implement eventually consistent replication for an in-memory key-value store built on top of Slicer's auto sharding capabilities.

My first internship with Google was everything I could have imagined. The Mountain View campus was beautiful, the atmosphere was lively and the work was rewarding. I sat in building 2015 with the EdgeTPU team, extending their testing framework to improve numerical coverage of quantized neural network tests.

San Diego is an incredible city and Qualcomm was an incredible company. I thoroughly enjoyed my internship here, studying the impact of quantization on the security of computer vision neural networks. Besides being an intellectually stimulating summer, I also was lucky enough to live close to the beach and surfed nearly every day.

OSISoft was my first internship and was my second summer living in Berkeley, CA (where I took CS 61C -- computer architecture -- at UC Berkeley the year before). I worked with the Cloud Services team to prototype integration with a partner's pre-release technology.
