The Memory Lab is part of the Department of Psychology at Lehigh University.
We study how episodic memories are formed and later transformed upon reactivation and in light of new information.
Some of the questions we ask:
Can we intentionally forget others' behaviors? What does it take to update first impressions?
How do our own beliefs shape how we remember belief-congruent vs. belief-incongruent information?
What conditions allow for the updating of memories when new relevant information becomes available?
What factors govern the retention of gist versus detail in long-term visual recognition?
