I am a Professor in the Psychology Department at Lehigh University. I joined the Lehigh faculty in 2010 after completing my PhD in Developmental Psychology at the University of Michigan and my BA in Psychology at Boston College. My research examines the development of conceptual knowledge in infancy and early childhood, the mechanisms by which this knowledge changes across development, and how early conceptual knowledge lays the groundwork for mature human cognition. My work explores how infants and young children develop an understanding of people, and how young children organize their knowledge about the world into categories.

I am a doctoral student in the Psychology Department at Lehigh University. I received my BA in Psychology from Muhlenberg College and my MA in Psychology from Boston University. My research examines the mechanisms that facilitate children's cognitive development. Specifically, I'm interested in investigating how parental input in parent-child interactions facilitates children's learning.

Ashley Dautrich

PhD Student (2023 - present)

I am a doctoral student in the Psychology Department at Lehigh University. I received my BA with a double major in Psychology and Italian from Franklin & Marshall College. I am interested in how infants and young children learn language and develop both cognitively and socially within the first few years of life. Considering how impactful children's parents are during this period, I am also interested in how children's play interactions with their parents facilitate their learning in these areas.
