College Applications – College applications opened on August 1, 2026. Students can apply directly through college portals or via the Common Application.
Florida Public Universities (SUS): Early action/priority deadlines usually fall between October 15 and November 15. Applying early maximizes admission seats and scholarship consideration.
Application Types
Early Action (EA) – Apply early and receive a decision early. Not binding.
Pros: Earlier decision; more time to compare financial aid offers; keeps your options open.
Cons: Earlier deadline; less time to improve grades, test scores, etc.
Early Decision (ED) – Apply early and receive a decision early. Binding, meaning you agree to attend if accepted (with limited exceptions).
Pros: Shows the college it is your top choice; may improve admission chances
Cons: Binding if accepted; cannot compare financial aid offers; requires an early, confident decision.
Regular Decision (RD) – Apply by the regular deadline and receive your admissions decision later in the spring. Not binding.
Pros: More time to improve grades, test scores, etc; allows you to apply to and compare multiple colleges and financial aid offers.
Cons: Decisions come later; more waiting and uncertainty
Rolling Admission – college reviews applications as they are submitted instead of waiting until one specific deadline to review everyone together.
Pros: Flexible application timing
Cons: Some schools become more competitive as spaces fill

Common Application - Common App is an online college application system that lets students apply to multiple colleges using one main application. Instead of filling out the same basic information over and over, students complete one profile that can be sent to participating colleges. Common App is a central application platform that makes applying to multiple colleges easier. Many U.S. colleges use it, but not every college does.

Background, identity, interest, or talent that is essential to your story.
A challenge, setback, or failure and what you learned.
A time when you questioned or challenged a belief or idea.
An act of unexpected gratitude and its impact on you.

Official Transcript Requests
Common App: Transcripts are sent electronically through the system once you link your account and assign your school counselor. School counselors will not receive this request until a student has submitted their application through Common App.
Non-Common App Colleges: Visit the School Counseling Office in person to fill out a physical Transcript Request Form.
Privacy Note: Official transcripts cannot be sent via email under any circumstances.
