AVID I students learn how to set goals; know how to believe in their potential; and exercise their academic, social, emotional, and professional knowledge and skills. Students are introduced to the tutorial process where they will work together in solving harder concepts or questions that they have in their core classes.
AVID II students research opportunities, set goals, make choices that support their long-term aspirations, and study with peers using an advanced coaching method. They will begin to research careers and Universities, trade schools or military options. Students utilize their tutorials as a way to master concepts in their core classes and assist others as they work towards answering their point of confusion. Students also gain support from their AVID class with reading techniques and practice to be successful on their FAST ELA test.
AVID III students research opportunities, set goals, make choices that support their long-term aspirations, and study with peers using an advanced coaching method. They will practice test-taking strategies to be successful on state tests. Students also take the SAT and continue researching Universities or trade schools they wish to attend. Students continue with the tutorial process and collaborative study groups to aid with their rigorous classes.
AVID IV students write resumes, apply for scholarships, and apply to desired post-secondary schooling. Students engage with guest speakers on various topics. Students apply all the knowledge from the previous years to be college and career ready after high school
