Military


If you're thinking of enlisting in the military, start with some research.
Requirements to Enlist
  • Citizenship
    • U.S. Citizen or Lawful permanent resident with valid "Green Card"
  • Age Limits
    • Enlist at 17 with parental consent or at 18 without.
  • Education
    • High School Diploma or GED (your options may be limited in some branches)
  • Testing
    • Everyone must take the ASVAB test.  It determines which branches and jobs you can pursue.
  • Health and Fitness
    • Pass a physical exam and meet weight limits.  Each service has different fitness standards.

Technical College


Technical colleges specialize in career-driven courses that focused directly on teaching skills that apply to specific careers.

State College


State Colleges focus primarily on awarding two-year associate's degrees and professional certificates.
In Florida, State Colleges partner with State Universities to provide students with transfer opportunities.

Florida’s 2 + 2 Program


The cost of a bachelor’s degree from a state university is more affordable than you think. Florida’s 2 +2 Program creates a seamless path for students with an associate’s degree to enter a state university.
To be eligible for Florida’s 2 + 2 Program, students must first earn an associate’s degree at a state college. Students who earn an associate’s degree at a state college are automatically guaranteed admission to a state university.
