PHILOSOPHY

Our goal is to have fun while learning about track and field, and while improving our fitness and skill levels. Cross Country along withTrack and Field are sports in which personal achievement is just as important as team achievement, and by improving yourself you improve the team.

PRACTICES

Practice for Cross Country will be held at LHS and will being at 3:30 and end by 4:30. Make sure to have water because will will be running a minimim of 3.1 miles per practice.

Practice for Indoor and Outdoor Track will be at the stadium on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday until the meets start then Friday will be added in as a clean up and technique day. It will begin at 3:40 and finished by 5:00 M/T and 3:30-4:30 W/TH at the latest. If you don't come to practice, then you won't be in the meets or allowed to travel with the team to the meets. All Practice is mandatory unless you have permission from the coaches to not come.

What to Bring to Practices:

On the first day:

You must have all paperwork completed and a current physical on file with the AD to be able to even come to practice.

Every day:

proper attire, water bottle or sports drink

Mandatory: running or cross training sneakers (not: basketball shoes, Converse, Keds, Sketchers, etc)

Mandatory: sweatpants or track pants AND a sweatshirt, fleece, or warm windbreaker for colder conditions while shorts and t-shirts are permitted for warmer conditions. Please bring and wear attire that is appropriate for the weather conditions outside, we will be outside even in cold temperatures.

Mandatory: long hair must be pulled back (pony tail or braid) throughout every practice and meet

Optional but suggested: hat and gloves, small towel, lip balm, sunscreen, energizing snack

Uniforms

Uniforms will be purchased from BSN sports by the athlete and their parents. This is not included in the team fee. It is the athletes responsibility to keep up with their uniform, clean it after every meet, and make sure it is in good condition. If you do not have your uniform with you on a meet day, you will not ba allowed to travel with the team or participate in the meet.
