ATTENDANCE/SATURDAY SCHOOL
High school students are permitted no more than 8 absences out of the total days in the semester for a semester long course or 16 absences out of the total days in the school year for a yearlong course. Students who miss more than 8 day per class are strongly encouraged to attend Saturday School to ensure that they receive credit for their course. LCHS AND SLHS provide students with the opportunity to make up time for the course. Students are responsible for providing their own transportation and snack during Saturday School.

MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES FOR STUDENTS
LCS has partnered with Calhoun Psychology PLLC to offer students mental health services at no cost to families. These services will be provided during school hours, during or after school to make the services convenient for families.

NORTH CAROLINA RESIDENCY DETERMINATION STATUS
What is Residency? A service to determine residency for students who are applying to college. This determines if a student should have in state or out of state tuition. This should be complete with a the parent/guardian and student.

UPWARD BOUND
The Upward Bound (UB) program is a federally-funded educational program which provides free services to high school students in preparation for college. Students must be in 9th grade or higher to enroll in the program. This a great opportunity to help build skills, promote motivation, and pursue college.

CCCC YOUTH BUILD
Central Carolina YouthBuild provides guidance and opportunity for local youth who have previously been met with barriers to achieving goals. Through YouthBuild, students will earn their GED or Adult High School Diploma, along with an industry-recognized credential in construction, culinary or nursing.
