Teams of judges will interview each participant for no more than 15 minutes and see the project. If a project (video, slideshow, presentation, etc.) is longer than about five minutes, the judges will view just a portion of the project. The judges use a rubric guide from the category page and suggested questions to evaluate each project. After completing the judging of all projects in a grade/category, the judges will rank the projects and first, second, and third place winners will be awarded. All decisions of the judges are final.
Students MUST present their projects virtually using the guidelines on the registration tab of this site.
Judging will take place between November 5th-13th, 2024, and the winners will be announced/notified on November 14-15, 2024.
If you would like to be a judge, please out the Form below.
All projects will be judged at the STATE level by the following:
(10%) Documentation - Did students include citations for sources and permissions for non-student-produced material?
(15%) Complete and Functional - Was the entire project complete and did it function as intended?
(20%) Creativity - Did the student(s) use a higher level of creativity throughout the design process and presentation?
(25%) Understanding - Did the student(s) demonstrate a solid understanding of the software used for project development?
(30%) Intended Purpose - Did all elements of the project work together to serve the intended purpose?
Projects are evaluated by the judges to determine the best project in that category. The judges use several instruments for making their evaluations. Judges will provide each student with a feedback form listing strengths, weaknesses, and suggestions for each project. Actual scoring materials will NOT be released. All decisions by the judges are FINAL.
