The purpose of the Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (MCJROTC) program is to instill a value of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment.
The Mission of the MCJROTC Program is to:
1) Develop informed and responsible citizens.
2) Develop leadership skills.
3) Strengthen character.
4) Promote an understanding of the basic elements and requirements for national security.
5) Help form habits of self-discipline.
6) Develop respect for, and an understanding of, the need for constituted authority in a democratic society.
The Marine Corps JROTC Leadership Education program places a great deal of emphasis on the development of self-discipline, leadership, honor, integrity, and community service. As a cadet gains experience and knowledge, they are given more active hands-on leadership responsibilities within the MCJROTC program. In addition, cadets are acquainted with basic military skills, customs, traditions, and Marine Corps history.
In order to receive the JROTC credential (granted in the form of a “Certificate of Completion” issued by each service component), cadets must meet the minimum requirements listed below. The certificate can be used to gain an automatic promotion in any of the armed forces upon enlistment assuming other requirements for enlistment are met.
Cadets must complete a minimum of three years of JROTC credit. Completion is defined as earning a minimum of one JROTC course credit in an academic year.
Minimum Criteria:
Must have actively participated in at least one required Service Learning/Community Service Project.
Must have earned a Cadet Good Conduct Ribbon.
Must have completed a minimum of 30 hours of Community Service.
Must have an overall GPA of 2.5 (unweighted) in all subject areas.

Must have served in a leadership position.
Must have no more than two major discipline infractions as defined by the school administration.
