Jasmine also has a successful blog and Instagram account which focuses on Art and interiors.
Every day is different however listed below are some of the things I would typically do:
Process customer’s orders.
Respond to customer enquiries.
Liaise with Artists whose artwork I sell about stock levels, new art, promotional campaigns and sales initiatives.
Update the website and stock levels.
Update my accounts.
Jasmine studied Art up to A-Level.
I have a Masters degree in business, a BA HONS degree as well as couple of other Diplomas but they were not essential pre-requisites for my current job role. However, I worked in the corporate world for many years in IT, HR and Project Management all of which gave me the skills and experiences to achieve my current position.
I have also monitored the contemporary art industry for a number of years as well as buying and selling art before I set up my own business.
It is essential that you understand and are knowledgeable about the creative industry you would like to enter.
It is important to know about the market leaders within that industry and if you are going into business who your competition will be.
Be resilient and prepared for rejection as some of the more niche industries are hard to gain access to, competition is fierce and it might be hard to sustain regular work.
Have a Plan B it is always good to have qualifications to fall back on in case you need to change direction or career.
