This year we will be learning about an exciting variety of topics that will take us on a virtual trip around the world. We will be looking through the eyes of the past and present, as we compare and contrast different cultures and places. In this class, we will work on your reading, writing, and critical thinking skills while we uncover the many exciting mysteries and questions that social studies have to offer. This means you are not just a student in this class, but an explorer! You can follow our progress around the world on our class pin map. Also, check out the bulletin board for information on our current unit.
About Your Teacher
I've been teaching at Woodglen since 2014 and the focus of my class has always been ancient history and learning about cultures around the world. I'm an avid traveler and history/archaeology enthusiast. I like to share my experiences with my students so they can get a better understanding of the world they live in. Part of my teaching philosophy is that social studies teaches children to look at multiple points of view in order to make sound decisions
