Where We Came From
The story of Lebanon Middle School is rooted in more than a century of education, tradition, and Jacket Pride. Generations of students walked the halls of the old Lebanon Junior High School, part of a historic campus whose buildings and classrooms witnessed decades of learning, friendships, athletics, and unforgettable memories.
Hillcrest Elementary, built in 1951, became the district's sixth-grade center during the 1983–1984 school year. For decades, Hillcrest and Lebanon Junior High served students in separate buildings, each developing its own traditions and place in the community.
In 2015, Lebanon voters approved construction of a new middle school, bringing grades six through eight together under one roof in August 2016. Although the old junior high campus was eventually demolished, its legacy lives on through the memories of former students and educators and the Alumni Plaza that honors Lebanon's educational history.
Our buildings have changed, but our commitment to students, our traditions, and our Yellowjacket pride continue from one generation to the next.
