The Why

It is no secret that New Orleans, Louisiana is loved for its great music, food, festivals, weather, and culture. However,  in many ways it is looked upon and treated as an underdeveloped resource and even as a third world country. We are training and graduating media arts technicians, directors, actors and actresses, and the host of related music, film, and video related talent with very few accessible studios to employ or cultivate their skills. They must seek opportunities elsewhere and in less quality environments and New Orleans misses out, as a result. The stories that could have created a world class image of New Orleans’ products, inventions, ingenuity, people, places, and artistry are only picked up in a happenstance way. It then becomes shows such as the Nightly News that tell our City’s story. What a story they tell.

The Box Studios of New Orleans is assisting the people of New Orleans to tell our story in the way only we can with a flavor all our own. The Box provides experienced multimedia professionals, vintage and industry standard equipment in a smoke free, client-focused environment.

The Box Studios is a business partnership between Byron Jupiter and Shanelle Blunt. We have been in business since July 2015.

The Box Studios is something we have always wanted: a business that increases our opportunity to use and hone our skills, collaborate with and improve our community, and provide an opportunity to work alongside one another.
