Hello, students my name is Max Rahn, a teacher at Learning Works Charter School in Pasadena. I teach Middle and High school on variousdays, so make sure to follow the schedule. ALWAYS feel free to call or text me with any questions, comments, or concerns. Tuesday - Thursday I teach English class at the Middle school campus from 10am-11am and Thursdays I hold an English Lab for 9th graders from 1:30pm-2:30pm. I will be checking inwith each of you daily. If you see me and need help or have questions, always feel free to stop me and ask. Below is the Middle and High school schedule. Students must make contact with me at least once every THREE days. This contact can include meeting in person, over zoom, a phone call, email, remind message, or text exchange.
Students are expected to complete two modules per week. A minimum of five modules are due by the last day of every learning period. If you do not meet the minimum requirement you will enter academic probation, if under 3 a Learning Period, you will be given a notice of “Intent to Drop” and after 3 Learning Periods, will be dropped from enrollment. The rate at which you graduate is determined by the number of modules completed per LP.

When turning in modules please make sure that:
All book work and projects are complete and in order according to the cover page. Put your name on each module.
Your packet is organized and stapled
If you are more comfortable typing your work, I will also accept modules via email/google suite.

This year, students are required to check-in with teachers at least twice a week. This can be accomplished by phone call, text, email, Zoom, or in-person. In the next two weeks, we will decide on a time that best fits for you to check in with me. This will be YOUR time to meet with me and ask me any questions, school-related or not, that you have.
Office hours: Wednesdays and Fridays 12-2pm in person or via zoom link. All students will have the link and can stop in to ask questions or just talk. You’re also welcome to stop by in person!
