Welcome back to the 2023-24 school year!
I am so excited to see our returning students again and am looking forward to meeting all of the students joining the Learning Works family this year. Check out the below to know what to expect this school year. Daniela
Module Completion Expectations
Students are expected to complete two modules per week. A minimum of five modules are due by the last day of every learning period. If you do not meet the minimum requirement you will enter academic probation, be given a notice of “Intent to Drop” and eventually will be dropped from enrollment. The rate at which you graduate is determined by the number of modules completed per LP.
This year, students are required to check-in with teachers at least once a week. This can be accomplished by phone call, text, email, Zoom, or in-person. Once students and I decide on a time that best fits for you to check in with me, this will be YOUR time to meet with me and ask me any questions that you have, school-related or not.
If do you miss your scheduled time, make sure to join me in Zoom office hours as I have limited time to reschedule missed appointments.
Mechanics
When turning in modules please make sure that:
All book work and projects are complete and in order according to the cover page. Incomplete work and/or work missing projects will be returned to you.
There is only one staple securing the packet.
Remember, this is your hard work, always present it in a neat and organized fashion.
If you are more comfortable typing your work, I will also accept modules via email/google suite.
Office Hours
I will have office hours every Wednesday from 3-4pm. All students are able to stop in to ask questions, or just to talk. My office hour meetings can also be arranged via zoom with prior notice and on a first come first serve basis.
About me and my chaser, Ms. Dionne
Ms. Daniela
I'm a SoCal native, I attended Cal State Fullerton and majored in Radio, TV and Film. I worked in television production after college (if you can find old episodes of In Living Color or You Bet Your Life, you might just see my hame in the credits) So teaching is my second career. I love teaching at Learning Works and my hope is to bring out the best in all of my students. My goal is to support you on your education journey, wherever it may lead.
Of course, like all Learning Works teachers, I am lucky to have the support of a Chaser™. I am very pleased to have the privilege of working with my chaser, Dionne for a second year. Dionne and I are a team and our main goal is to help you succeed and do your best this school year. Dionne is an experienced chaser, a Learning Works alumnus, and a recent, proud UC Riverside graduate. She is also an excellent tutor so a great resource for me and students alike.
