The Parabola Project is a philanthropically funded initiative of the One8 Foundation. A collaborative endeavor between the education and health communities, its goal is to rapidly identify, develop, and share guidance and tools to help school system leaders and practitioners make decisions and implement practices that support the mitigation of COVID-19 related risks while maximizing community learning and wellbeing. This guide, which focuses primarily on readiness to manage health-related risks with the return to in-person learning, is the first in a series of planned supports; additional resources focused on aligned, high-quality educational practices and additional tools for implementation will be released. For additional information, to provide feedback, or to share ideas, please reach out to parabolaproject@learningaccelerator.org.
The Learning Accelerator is a national nonprofit that is working to make the ‘potential’ possible and practical for every teacher and learner. Underpinning TLA’s work is a drive to ensure each student receives an effective, equitable, and engaging education – one that is informed by data and supported by technology – that supports them to reach their full and unique potential. Our mission is to connect teachers and leaders with the knowledge, tools, and networks they need to enact practices to transform K-12 education.
TLA has mobilized to support school and district leaders navigate the transition to remote learning and planning for the upcoming school year. In addition to producing various free resources for teachers and leaders, we have organized The Always Ready For Learning Network, a national, philanthropically funded coalition of expert organizations that provide free individualized coaching to school and district leaders. Coaching sessions have given us insights into the pain points schools are prioritizing, pathways for implementation and improvement, and resources for support.
