Goodbye to Pod E...

A great bunch of Grade 7 bulldogs!

I want to thank all my parents and students for a very memorable last year of my career! After 35 years, I am retiring from teaching and moving on to try other things (including some travel)! I want to especially thank those families that graciously sent cards and gifts my way (Alex, Jase, Payton, Avneet, Moulik, Prabh, Ekta, Aikam, Chloe, Alexa, Izleen, Serenity, and those I just can't recall at the moment!). My greatest gift was having so many wonderful students in my last year (or two)!!

I'll be back next year to volunteer with your/my kids in Grade 8, and so I can keep an eye on them and their progress! LOL

Have a wonderful summer and get out and do things together :)

Mr. G :)

Rain, Cold, Mud, and Fun at Maan Farms! see the photos in the album :)

Great day at Crescent Beach! It was good to see all the Grade 7's mixing and enjoying being together!

On this first acknowledged day of truth and reconciliation, I thought I would share this. My mom-in-law survived 6 damaging years in the Kamloops Indian Residential School.

Three generations representing strong, resilient, and loving women...

So many feelings today. I feel so much anger and yet my body aches with sadness. I'm sorry you had to go through that. I'm sorry you didn't get an apology. I'm sorry you had to carry that trauma with you your whole life. However, I am thankful that you survived, and became a pillar of strength and courage for our family. Thankful that even though you were shown no love and kindness by the people that were involved, you were somehow able to show it to everyone around you. My heart aches for the little souls that didn't get to grow up, didn't get to experience love and joy, to be with their families, find their person, to have kids and grandkids and missed out on all the good parts of life because a certain evil decided their way of living was "savage". Here's to #honouring #remembering and #healing
