Application Process
Anyone interested in the IB program is invited to watch the following information videos and complete the applicable Online Application found below. If you have any additional questions, please email the IB Coordinator, Michael Keeley, at michael.keeley@abbyschools.ca.

Note: No Recommendations will be Needed by Abbotsford Middle School Teachers
The Key Dates For The 2023/2024 Intake Are As Follows:
January 9, 2023: Online IB Application is available
IB Diploma Programme is open to all Abbotsford students beginning in grade 11
February 1, 2023: Abby Sr Registration Packages and Out of Catchment Forms will be accepted to Counselling Department.
Any student applying from outside the Abby Sr catchment must include a completed Out of Catchment or Out of District Form
To be considered for the programme students must have a minimum cumulative B average and exceptional work habits and behaviour.
Students accepted from out of catchment and out of district must successfully complete a minimum of three (3) IB courses per year.
March 27, 2023: Student and Parent Questionnaire will be e-mailed to all applicants. Must be completed by Friday, April 14.
April 17, 2023: Teacher Questionnaire e-mailed to all referees, if needed. Must be completed by Thursday, April 27.
May 8, 2023: Applicants will be notified as to whether their application has been approved, denied, or deferred to a waitlist.
If your child is currently a student at Abbotsford Senior Secondary School there is no application process for the IB Programme as recommendations will occur by their grade 10 teachers.
However, if your child is currently attending another school please print and fill out the Abbotsford Sr Application Package and complete the IB supplement package.
IB Programme Online Application
All the required documents (Birth Certificate, recent report card, and 2 proofs of residence - original documents please, Out of Catchment Form) must be submitted to our Counselling Center. You can also scan everything, and e-mail it directly to barbara.glenn@abbyschools.ca.
