There are three school-sanctioned Grad events: Crystal Ball, Grad Walk and Prom, and Commencement Ceremonies. Any events other than those listed below are not sanctioned by the school, and we advise you to use extreme caution in allowing your child to attend. Please be aware that your child must be in a mathematical position to graduate in terms of graduation credits in order to participate in year end graduation events. Additional Information will be added below as details about times, ticket sales, and photos become available.

We appreciate your patience as we have awaited approval of our event permits and secured dates with key vendors. The application submitted for 2024 Grad Walk and Prom is for Friday May 23, 2025. We would discourage students from booking appointments until this date is confirmed and communicate it as soon as possible. Additional information will be released closer to the date, but for your planning purposes we would like Grads and their families to know:
Grads may begin gathering at the Dolphins for photos at 3:30p.m.
We will begin marshaling Grads and moving guests into position for the Grad Walk at 4:15p.m.
We anticipate the Grad Walk will begin at 4:30 p.m.
ALL STUDENTS ATTENDING THE PROM MUST RIDE THE BUS FROM THE DOLPHINS TO HILLCREST.
The Grad Walk and Prom are school sanctioned events and the School Code of Conduct applies at both events. The Prom is now an RSS Grade 12/Grad only event.
In response to feedback from parents and Grads, while also creating an equitable experience for our school and community both now and in the future, the 2024 RSS CommencementCeremony will be held in the RSS Gym on Saturday June 21, 2024.
Grads had the opportunity to sign up for a ceremony session during the first week of April. Students who had not selected a time have been assigned a session. Session times can be confirmed in the Grad Google Classroom.
Grads and their families can collect 8 guest tickets, in addition to their Grad, will be able to attend the ceremony.
A livestream of the event will be released via the "Ceremony" page and also through our parent email system, but the emphasis in planning prioritizes the live experience for participants.
