Students enrolled in SD23 have a unique opportunity to participate in a program that allows them to gain real life experience toward many professional service careers such as, Firefighting, Nursing, and Policing.
Students from any Central Okanagan school can participate in the program by cross-enrolling into the OKM Pre-Lifeguard Academy class and building it into their home school schedule.
This single semester course will allow students to gain 4 grade 11 course credits and the following professional lifeguard certifications.
Standard First Aid
Bronze Medallion
Bronze Cross
YMCA Water Safety Instructor
This single semester course will allow students to gain 4 grade 12 course credits and the following professional lifeguard certifications.
National Lifeguard Pool
