2026 Valedictorian Schedule:
KSS Class of 2026, we are happy to announce the Valedicorian process and timline for this year.
An information meeting for interested students will be held on Friday, April 24th in room 147 at lunch. Applications will be distrubuted then, but also available to students until the due date.
Applications are due: Monday, May 11th at 3:15pm. Please drop them in room 147.
Successful applicant interviews will take place May 19th through 22nd.
Candidates who successfully make it to the last round will be asked to present a speech during block 5/6 on June 2nd, with the successful candidates being announced on Friday, June 5th.
Criteria:
The valedictorian of a graduating class needs to possess the qualities and beliefs of their peers. It is a very prestigious opportunity and we welcome your application or nomination.
The successful valedictorian(s) will be:
• A positive role model for their peers and younger students
• A strong representative of the values of a KSS student
• Dedicated to academics and work ethic
• Respected by peers and teachers
• Involved in multiple facets of the school culture
Please note the following points:
• All applicants and nominees will undergo the interview process.
• A shortlist will be made after interviews, and successful students will prepare a 3-5 minute speech.
• The decision on who will be the valedictorian(s) will be made by a staff and student committee.
• Late applications will not be considered.
• The successful candidates will need to present their speech in advance to the staff and student committee
for final approval.
