What are some of My Options for the Capstone Project?
Passion Project - this is a Tangible Project that that is connected to an area of interest/passion. This is the opportunity to do something hands on! (See, touch, smell, listen, etc...)
Research Inquiry - The goal is to develop new arguments, insights or dig deeper into an area of interest. This is an opportunity to build research and communicate knowledge. (Research paper, videos, blog, podcast, etc...)
Entrepreneurship - The main focus is for students to experience the start of a new business initiative, the building and execution of an idea from the ground up.
4 Food Chiefs of the Syilx Okanagan People - Looking at the 17 sustainable goals of the United Nations through the lens of the Okanagan People. (Is there a topic that you feel passionately about? Hunger? Poverty? Equity? The environment? With that topic you will explore it through the perspective of the Okanagan People!)
Hosting an Event - Students must research, create, and host their own event. The event should connect to an area of personal interest, passion or career of interest. (Ideally, there is an opportunity for not only students, teachers and parents to participate, but also for the community.)
Career Passport - Each student that chooses this option must complete at least one Job Shadow and/or Program Shadow. You will also need to choose 4 other experiences to complete throughout the semester to help you explore what post secondary opportunities might exist for you! Exploring and experiencing a variety of careers, jobs and passions will help you better understand where you want to go.
