Opening of École George Pringle Secondary School
The Board is seeking input from the West Kelowna and Peachland Communities about the opening of École George Pringle Secondary School.
You are invited to provide feedback at the following link:

At the Central Okanagan Public Board Meeting on April 22, 2026, the Board of Education directed the Superintendent of Schools to conduct a public consultation process about catchment boundary options associated with the opening of École George Pringle Secondary School (GPSS).
The opening of GPSS in September 2027 needs the Board of Education’s direction on the placement of middle and secondary students on the Westside.
Beginning in 2021, the Board of Education approved several motions to prepare for the development of a second secondary school in West Kelowna after holding multiple public consultation meetings, public Committee meetings, and public Board Meetings. Since 2021, significant changes in student enrolment trends no longer align with the original Board of Education motions and affect efforts to balance student enrolment in West Kelowna. To better align future student enrolment at West Kelowna middle and secondary schools, the following scenarios have been shared for consideration:
Follow the 2022 Motions to shift the Shannon Lake Elementary School catchment into the École Glenrosa Middle School feeder catchment.
Keep the alternate feeder pattern where the Shannon Lake Elementary School catchment continues to belong to the Constable Neil Bruce Middle School catchment, balancing middle school enrolments and gradual secondary school enrolment shifts.
Keep the alternate feeder pattern where the Shannon Lake Elementary School catchment continues to belong to the Constable Neil Bruce Middle School catchment. Middle and secondary school enrolments numbers are managed by registration alignment at school transition times (grade 5 into grade 6 and grade 8 into grade 9).
Public consultation sessions were held on April 30 at Shannon Lake Elementary School, May 5 at Constable Neil Bruce Middle School and May 7 at École Glenrosa Middle school. If you would like to provide additional feedback regarding the opening of École George Pringle Secondary School, please use the QR or link provided above.
Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Childminding @ PAC Meetings
A friendly reminder that childminding during PAC meetings is available only for students in Kindergarten to Grade 5. Childminding is offered through HGE PAC in the school gym and students are supervised by interested Grade 5 students. If you have a responsible intermediate interested in babysitting please email the PAC at hgeparents@gmail.com. Please know that the grade 4 or 5s who do take on this important role of "babysitters" during these meetings, do so knowing they are caring for younger children and having older middle students attend can make it challenging for them to lead with confidence. While we value connections with middle school students, we ask for your support in keeping childminding limited to children in grades K–5. If you have any questions, please contact the HGE PAC President, Dani Walls by emailing hgeparents@gmail.com. Thank you!
