Before we get into all the bite-sized learning in this Digital Educator Starter Kit, it's important that we first consider the WHY behind all of this. As you watch this short video, reflect on what you currently think is the the true role of technology in education. We will then share our district's vision when it comes to learning technology in our schools.
In British Columbia, we believe it is essential to provide our students with learning opportunities to grow and develop their digital literacy skills.
"Digital literacy is an important skill to have in today’s technology based world. The BC Ministry of Education defines digital literacy as the interest, attitude, and ability of individuals to appropriately use digital technology and communication tools to access, manage, integrate, analyze, and evaluate information, construct new knowledge, create, and communicate with others.”
