Welcome back!

I hope you had a fun summer and I can't wait to hear all about it.

I am so excited about this year. We are going to learn so many wonderful things in a variety of ways.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.

Red words are words that cannot be sounded out phonetically and do not follow any particular phonemic rule. They are red because the students need to stop (like a stop sign) and think about them. There are so many different multi-sensory activities you can do to practice your red words!

How do you want to practice today?

4. Dribble a ball as you spell a red word

14. Play “Zap “ with popsicle sticks. Write each Red Word on a stick and add some sticks with ZAP! Pick sticks and read the words. If you read it correctly, keep it. If you get a ZAP! you have to put all your sticks back.

15. Write a story using all of your red words.

16. Use chopsticks and plastic letters to spell out red words (great for fine motor skills).
