Improve District Administration Talk By Mr. Simon Chan JP
Mr. Simon Chan JP, the District Officer (Eastern) from the Home Affairs Department, delivered a presentation on improving governance at the district level. The presentation took place on 06/10/2023 in the school hall and was attended by students from forms 4 to 6. He emphasized the importance of community service. The students expressed high appreciation for the presentation and actively engaged by asking questions related to community engagement and policy implementation.
“China in My Eyes” Photography Competition
In addition to the previous content, our students participated in the "China in My Eyes" Photography Competition jointly organized by the Eastern District Youth Community and Civic Education Committee as well as the Eastern District School Liaison Committee. We are delighted to announce that four of our students received the merit award for their outstanding entries. The awardees are Magalang Windelyn Mariscotes from 6B, Khan Bibi Aisha Lachica from 6B, Muhammad Soban from 5C, and Muhammad Talha from 4A. Congratulations to these talented students for their remarkable achievement in capturing the essence of China through their photographs.
Youth Development Blueprint
Over the years, the government has organized, funded, and co-ordinated various youth development programs. Hence, our students promoted the Youth Development Blueprint program to encourage all the students to broaden their horizons and to learn about and grasp the diversified development opportunities.
Organised an exhibition to showcase China’s achievements in different fields
Our CSD department has organised an exhibition to showcase China’s achievements in different fields from 09/10/2024 to 13/10/2024. The research projects of senior form students on the 11 Greater Bay Area cities were presented to junior form students in the library. The students felt very proud of their Motherland’s achievements strengthening their sense of national identity.
HK Civic Education Quiz Contest - Junior and Senior Hong Kong Champions
The first-ever English-based HK Civic Education Quiz Contest, organized by Hope Federation Limited, saw a remarkable level of participation, with over 1,000 secondary school students from across Hong Kong taking part in the first round. In the semi-finals, around 200 participants competed and out of the 40 finalists, IKTMC had an impressive representation of around 25 students.
S.5 Mainland Study Tour
As a compulsory part of the CSD curriculum, students and teachers visited Shenzhen as part of the Mainland Study Tour on 25-06-2024. This one-day trip was meaningful as our students visited the Nanshan Museum and the Nantou Ancient City. This allowed them to further understand the cultural heritage preservation alongside technological development in modern China and uplifted their sense of national identity.
