There will be changes in the way students can use their Google Learn accounts for third-party applications. This change is being implemented as part of Google Workspace for Education's updated student policy. The primary goal of this policy revision is to enhance security and safety for students who are under the age of 18. Learn more from Google here.
Students will still be able to access specific educational applications, including Brightspace, Flip, Canva, and various coding and robotic apps. These apps are considered essential for educational purposes and will continue to be available.
Acess to unrelated non-educational applications, such as TikTok, Spotify, and Gaming Apps, will no longer be possible using students’ Google Learn accounts. This change is being made to create a more focused and secure learning environment for our students.
To change the email address associated with your account on a third-party app or service, you typically need to follow these steps:
Log into your Google Learn account: Go to the app or service's website and log in with your current email address and password.
Access account settings: Look for an option like "Account Settings," "Profile," or "Account Information" within the app or website. It may be in the form of a gear icon or your profile picture.
Edit email address: In the account settings, you should find an option to change your email address. This is often labeled as "Email" or "Email Address." Click on it.
Update email address: Follow the instructions to change your email address. You will likely need to enter your new email address and confirm it. Some services may also require you to enter your child’s current password for security purposes.
Verify the new email: Some services may send a verification email to your new address. You'll need to click on a link in that email to confirm the change.
Save changes: After verifying the new email address, save your changes.
