Angellyn is a co-director and co-founder of The Masses, a dance collective and performance group based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Her beginnings in dance started out at the young age of 3, learning studio dance styles including ballet, tap, jazz, and contemporary, but into her adulthood, her focus has shifted towards various street dance styles such as Hip Hop as well as taking a larger role in the realm of choreography and personalized movement. On top of directing and training with The Masses, Angellyn currently trains under Hip Hop OG, Sho Tyme, and his intensive training program S.O.D., which stands for “Students of Dance,” as well as being a part of Sho-Tyme’s elite performance group in Calgary, 9squad. Angellyn’s pursuit of dance has also allowed her to share her love of dance across national and international borders. Angellyn’s main goal with dance has always been to provide a community for all dancers, new, old, and returning. She not only aims at showing individuals that the pursuit of dance for the right reasons can be rewarding itself, but that as a woman, such a journey in leadership can be achieved.
