The Advanced Placement Program® (AP) enables willing and academically prepared students to pursue college-level studies while still in high school. Students who are willing and academically prepared to accept the challenge of a rigorous academic curriculum could apply for AP courses at All Saints High School.
AP courses allow high school students to experience university-level academic learning in addition to Alberta Education curriculum. Through the experiences gained in AP courses, students are better prepared for the rigors of university life.
Students who complete an AP course scoring four to five on a five-point scale are able to receive university advanced placement and are often eligible to receive credit for that corresponding university course from many Canadian universities and many American and international colleges and universities.
Completing AP course work can make a student stand out on post-secondary applications. AP courses on a student’s transcript shows that they’ve challenged themselves with the most rigorous courses available to them. And success on an AP Exam shows that they’re ready for college-level coursework.
The availability of AP courses reflects the district’s commitment to maximize students’ access to rigorous and academically challenging courses and programs.
