About Mr. Snow

Hello! My name is Mr. Snow. I'm in my 21st year in CVUSD, 20 of which have been at Redwood, right here in Room 23!

My wife, Ellen, and I have two sets of twins: Charlotte and Adam (14) are in 9th grade at TOHS, and Lydia and Westley (9) are in 4th grade at Aspen. We also have two shelter-adopted cats. Piper is a very silly lynx point Siamese, and Bartimaeus (Barty) is a sweet, fat ragamuffin.

I love to run, hike and do Spartan Races. I love to listen to, collect, and play music (guitar and bass especially, though I attempt to drum and sing too). I write poetry, music and stories (I have written one novel and am "working on" #2). I'll read just about anything I can get my hands on, especially antebellum (pre-Civil War), Civil War history, and anything on Abraham Lincoln. I love fiction, too, especially sci-fi/fantasy series like Dune, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Percy Jackson, Peter and the Starcatchers, Fablehaven, The Ranger's Apprentice, and anything by Brandon Sanderson or Robert Jordan. I also lead worship at my church, Chapel City Church, in Camarillo.

When I'm not doing the above activities, I can usually be found making terrible dad jokes and quoting Anchorman, Fletch, Tommy Boy, and other such nonsense, or watching stuff like Sherlock, The Good Place, Downton Abbey, The Great British Baking Show, or Ted Lasso. (Or Bluey!)

I obtained my bachelors degree in English/art history at Westmont College in Santa Barbara; then I got my teaching credential and Masters of Education through Azusa Pacific University; and finally I took tons of extra courses to gain my history supplemental credential and my art supplemental credential. I currently teach social studies and English, and I run our yearbook program. I'm also the social studies department chair.

I don't like having my picture taken, but I have a great Bitmoji, and I love red pandas with a deep and abiding passion. So you get to see both!
