  • You will have 50 minutes to write an essay on the prompt given. Read the passage thoroughly and carefully.
  • Print your essay.
  • No Double-Spacing/write on one side of the paper only.
  • Make sure writing stays in present tense
  • Strike-throughs should be as clean as possible.
  • Try to be varied in your language and sentence structure.
  • Use extra time to check for mistakes in grammar, spelling, punctuation and sentence formation.
  • Integrate quotes/phrases from passage liberally.
  • Remember to create a meaningful intro paragraph. No “empty” openings. Thesis needs to answer prompt.
