Founder & President:
My name is Torrey Hacioglu. I am a freshman at Westlake High School in Westlake Village, CA. I have been playing soccer since I was five years old at various levels including local recreational and club teams as well as at my school. From the very first moment my father, who grew up in Turkey and played soccer in his youth and even as an adult, introduced me to the beautiful game in the backyard of our house, I fell in love with it! As an energy professional working in Guinea, my father has told me countless stories about the deplorable conditions under which the kids are trying to play soccer in Guinea. Hearing these stories and somewhat embarrassed about the abundance of means we take for granted in the United States including soccer equipment, I decided to take action and started Cleats for Hope. My goal is simple: improve the lives of the Guinean children by providing them with new and slightly used soccer equipment, allowing them to enjoy this wonderful game a little more. If you have excess soccer gear you are no longer using, please consider donating them to Cleats for Hope so that a needy kid in Guinea can benefit from something that is sitting idly in your closet.
