About me

My name is Yamila Figueroa and I teach 5th grade Math and Science .

I graduated in Havana, Cuba in 1993 , as an English  Second Language teacher. I have been teaching in the USA for over 25 years and this is my 4th year at Cox. My husband and I moved to Texas  to be close to our  grandchildren. I have been married for over 36 years to my high school sweetheart .We have two wonderful daughters and 2 beautiful grandchildren.

I enjoy traveling, hiking, kayaking and spending time with family!

Teaching has always been my passion! I'm looking forward to an exciting school year full of new learning and positive experiences!
