How do I get into QUEST? (Current LISD student 24/25 school year)
Students must go through the LISD testing process to be identified as a QUEST student and enroll in the course. If you are a current student, reach out to your campus counselor or campus QUEST teacher for testing information. If you are a student who is currently in QUEST, you may choose to stay in QUEST without further testing.
FALL 2024 Students referred for testing by October 1, 2024 will be screened to determine the need for additional G/T assessment and identification. Those who qualify for additional assessments will be notified in October for the Winter Testing Window. Notification of results will be sent before the end of the semester to schedule for the Spring semester based on availability. Please contact your counselor for the referral form.
SPRING 2025 Students referred for testing by March 14, 2025 will be screened to determine the need for additional GT Identification. Those who qualify for additional screening will be notified in April for the Spring Identification Window. Notification of results will be sent before the end of the school year to qualify for the beginning of the new school year. Please contact your counselor for the referral form.
How do I get into QUEST? (New to district student for 24/25)
Students must go through the LISD testing process to be identified as a QUEST student and enroll in the course. Summer 2024 GT testing is not available. New to district students can be referred for GT testing in the fall 2024 window. Please contact your counselor for the referral form.
Do I have to take a QUEST class at CRMS in order to stay coded as GT?
No. As a GT identified student, you are eligible to take a QUEST class, but not required. However, there are certain courses that you must choose from in order to retain GT coding.
How do I remove GT coding/status?
If you are currently a student identified as GT and would like to no longer have that designation/fulfill GT requirements, you must write a letter stating your intentions to "furlough" the course. Please send one copy to CRMS Counseling office and copy Ashlee Pope, Coordinator of Advanced Programs.

What if I have been tested at my previous school?
If you have been identified as "gifted and talented" at your prior school, please bring all documentation to our CRMS registrar. Upon receipt, our registrar will send your student's testing information to Ashlee Pope who will review the tests conducted. She will then determine if LISD reciprocates fully or if more testing is required.
