Incoming 6th Grade Parent Orientation

• Tuesday, January 27th @ Wiley MS 6:00-7:30 

6th Grade Student Tour and Lunch (for students during the school day)

• Thursday, January 22nd for Pleasant Hill, Giddens, Bagdad, North

• Friday, January 23rd for Block House, Tarvin, Akin 

6th Grade Elective Choice Sheets Due: February 6th

6th to 7th Grade Transition 2026-2027

Tuesday and Wednesday, December 16th and 17th: In-class presentation with students during science class. 

• Students will use Naviance to choose their classes

• Students will use a Google Form to rank their elective classes 

January 9th:  Course Selection Due (Naviance course selection submitted and Elective Google form submitted)

7th to 8th Grade Transition 2026-2027

Monday and Tuesday, December 8th and 9th: In-class presentation with students during science class

• Students will use Naviance to choose their classes

• Students will use a Google Form to rank their elective classes 

January 9th:  Course Selection Due (Naviance course selection submitted and Elective Google form submitted)

8th to 9th Grade Transition 2026-2027

October 21st: Rouse Counselors at Wiley to talk to 8th graders during their Social Studies period

October 30th and 31st: Ms. Baaklini meets with 8th grade students to talk about career interests, 4 year plan, and Naviance

January 15th: WMS 8th graders go to Rouse for their High School Visit! 

January 15th:  Rouse 8th grade parent night

January 26th-30th: Rouse Counselors will be at WMS to meet with each 8th grader individually - looking at Naviance and their 9th grade course selection

March 12th: LAST day to make any changes to course selections for Rouse (district-wide deadline)
