The IB Diploma Program (DP) is an internationally recognized curriculum available to all LISD juniors and seniors. The DP features a unique academic experience, with an emphasis on students' personal development.

The IBDP aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. It encourages students to become lifelong learners with a global perspective and open mind.

First, we believe that a faculty with an elevated ability for building relational capacity with students, combined with authentic rigor and a culture built on transparency, continuous improvement, and personalized instruction will produce an exemplary learning environment---this is the signature experience at Vandegrift. Secondly, we also believe that the students and parents need to intuitively feel VHS is an inclusive place; from the classroom to the cafeteria, from the stage to the field, they need to feel that Vandegrift is the best school for their child. Finally, we believe that all teachers, staff and students need to feel what they are doing is important and valued—-that we are all part of a global, professional learning community committed to exploring diverse intercultural perspectives through [honest] discourse and inquiry. We believe in a “growth mindset” and developing leadership in all who aspire. Working at VHS must fulfill our intrinsic desire to make a difference and give our lives meaning.
