Essential Outcomes
During this year, we will be focusing on four essential outcomes in terms of skills gained by our students. These four EOs include:
EO #1 Geography: To cultivate a deep understanding of the characteristics of the geography of Texas
EO #2 Historical Knowledge: To develop a clear understanding of the events which have shaped the history of Texas and the United States
EO #3 Claims, Evidence, Reasoning: The ability to develop an argument with supportive evidence and to be able to justify claims using historical data and facts.
EO #4 Inferencing: Improve the understanding of how to draw conclusions using evidence and reasoning.
RUBRIC BASED GRADING: All Major Assessments (besides the multiple-choice portions of each Unit Test) will be graded using the below Rubric in regard to the student's understanding and achievement of the four EOs. During each grading period, the EO's for that Unit will be assessed in multiple opportunities. Should a student show growth in an EO during a grading unit, their grade for that EO will increase to reflect their comprehension and skill level.
