Welcome to 6th Grade ELA

Greetings to all Henry Hawk Families! 

Welcome to 6th grade English Language Arts. This year we will be using a workshop model of teaching ELA. This means students will be expected to read and write every day. The workshop model aims to increase reading and writing volume, model strong reading and writing habits, provide timely and specific feedback, and maximize student choice. Research shows that, by focusing on these four factors, students' reading and writing ability will improve; the workshop model allows us to build the best instruction for your kids.
