• Ordering cords and stoles are separate from cap and gowns. Your organization sponsor will communicate this ordering process, typically around Spring Break. Students may earn a cord through completing specific requirements in organizations such as AVID, one of the honor societies, IB Diploma Programme, etc.

• Only LISD approved cords, stoles, and medals are allowed to be worn at graduation.

• Recognition is given to seniors who graduate on the LISD Distinguished with Honors Plan as a Texas Scholar. Texas Scholar Medals will be distributed to seniors at graduation practice.

Leander ISD allows seniors the opportunity to decorate their cap! Decorations must:

• Lay flat on the cap

• School appropriate

• Positive message

• Non-political

Senioritis can be a very real thing but remember, your attendance still matters! Make sure you're staying on top of your hours and not accruing more as you make it to the finish line.

• Attending Prom? Hours must be cleared by April 10th to receive your prom ticket!

• In extenuating circumstances, students may file an Attendance Appeal form to their Assistant Principal. The Appeal form should be a summary of the circumstance and attach any additional documentation, such as doctor notes, as appropriate. The Attendance Appeal Committee will take your form, documentation (be sure to include!), and circumstance into consideration for their decision.

Hours for graduation/diploma eligibility are due May 15th!

FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION REQUIREMENT

In accordance with Texas Education Code (TEC), §28.0256 (more details here), each student must do one of the following in order to graduate:  

STEP #1: 

• Complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

• Complete and submit a Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA)

• Complete a signed opt-out form ENGLISH, SPANISH

STEP #2: 

• Upload your document to this form.  If you are enlisting in the military, or for whatever reason are not filling out the FAFSA/TASFA, you can complete the Opt-Out form.

MY TEXAS FUTURE

In accordance with updated Texas high school graduation requirements (more details below), each student must do one of the following in order to graduate:  

My Texas Future Step-By-Step Instructions 

STEP #1: 

• Create a My Texas Future profile and elect to participate in Direct Admissions OR 

• Complete a signed opt-out form

STEP #2:

• Submit documentation by completing THIS form.

Beginning with students enrolled during the 2026–2027 school year, Texas has added a new graduation requirement related to the My Texas Future Direct Admissions Program. Before graduating, students must make a choice regarding participation in Direct Admissions. Students may either:

• Create a My Texas Future profile and choose to participate in Direct Admissions, which includes allowing the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) to share necessary student data and education records with participating Texas colleges and universities; OR

• Opt out of participation by having a parent/guardian complete and sign the required opt-out form and submitting it to the student's school counselor.

WHAT IS MY TEXAS FUTURE?

My Texas Future is a free online platform that helps Texas students explore college opportunities. Through the Direct Admissions Program, students can see participating Texas colleges and universities where they may qualify for admission based on their academic information.

Students who participate will:

• Create a My Texas Future account and choose to participate in Direct Admissions.

• Enter academic information, such as:

  • Unweighted GPA on a 4.0 scale

  • Class rank

  • SAT and/or ACT scores

  • Graduation plan

• View potential college matches based on admission criteria provided by participating Texas institutions.

Families: Please Discuss This Requirement With Your Student. We encourage parents/guardians to talk with their student and decide which option is best for their family:

• Option 1: Participate
  Your student will create a My Texas Future profile and elect to participate in Direct Admissions.

• Option 2: Opt Out
  If your family chooses not to participate, a parent/guardian must complete and sign the opt-out form and return it to the student's school counselor.

Students must complete one of these two options to satisfy the new graduation requirement.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT DIRECT ADMISSIONS

• Direct Admissions is not a college application. Students must still apply to the college or university and submit all required application materials.

• Receiving a Direct Admissions match does not guarantee admission to a specific major or academic program. Additional requirements may apply.

• Students may update their academic information to receive the most accurate results.

• More than 30 Texas colleges and universities currently participate in the My Texas Future Direct Admissions Program.

CPR instruction

In accordance with TEC §28.0023 and TAC §74.38, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) instruction must be provided to each student at least once before graduation from high school. 

Many students will receive this instruction during Freshman Summit or Senior Summit. Make-up opportunities will be offered to students who have not yet completed this requirement. Details around these opportunities will be shared with Seniors and posted in the Senior Google Classroom.

HOW CAN I SEND MY SAT SCORES TO THE COLLEGE I AM ATTENDING?

SAT Scores are ordered through your College Board Account. LISD does not manage College Board login Information. You will have to contact College Board If you do not know your account information. 

HOW CAN I SEND MY ACT SCORES TO THE COLLEGE I AM ATTENDING?

ACT Scores are ordered through your College Board Account. LISD does not manage ACT login information. You will have to contact ACT if you do not know your account information. 

HOW CAN I SEND MY TSI ASSESSMENT SCORES TO THE COLLEGE I AM ATTENDING?

• If you can submit your unofficial score report, please access here and save it as a PDF to be able to upload/send it to any institution.

• Dual Credit scores are submitted directly to the Dual Credit office by Mrs. Wolske on behalf of students.

• The college may accept scores in a sealed envelope, but most will require you to complete a consent/authorization for them to retrieve the scores electronically through the online ACCUPLACER system:

  • • ACC's authorization form 

    • Sam Houston State University's authorization form

    • Tarleton State University's authorization form

    • Texas A&M University's authorization from

    • Texas State University's authorization form

    • University of North Texas (UNT) authorization form

    • University of Texas at Austin authorization form

    • University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) authorization form 

• Though very rare that a school would require official scores be sent, students may request official score reports by completing this LHS TSI Score Report Request Form.

Mid-April, seniors will be notified of any obligations they may have to LISD/LHS. These obligations must be satisfied to be eligible for graduation/your diploma. Obligations include items such as:

• Textbooks

• mLISD device

• Equipment (fine arts, athletics, etc.)

• Hours Owed (senior deadline is May 17th!)

• Library fees

• Senior Survey

Be sure you know where all items are by April 2027! Hours are posted outside all AP offices and are updated regularly. Hours email notifications have been going out at the end of each grading cycle.
