LISD Standards-Based Collaborative/Grade Level Team Grading Guidelines Plan
Grading process and criteria should be consistent on a campus for each subject/grade level.
Campus: River Place Elementary School Year: 2025/2026
Collaborative Team Name/Grade Level: First Grade Date: August 7, 2025
What process will be used to define mastery of each skill/standard as a team? What resources will be used to help? What are different ways to assess for mastery?
The 1st grade team will use vertical alignment planning resources, unpack the standards in PLC, and both formative and summative common assessments.
What are the ways evidence of student mastery will be collected through the course of the 9 weeks?
We will use formative and summative assessments, report card checks, and confer with students in both reading and writing. We will track data as a collective team through the PLC process and determine skills that need to be retaught and reassessed if necessary.
What are the different ways learning and progress will be communicated to parents (and students) during the 9 week grading period?
Parents will be contacted if concerns arise. Student progress will be discussed at parent conferences as well.
What will be the process for supporting students who do not yet demonstrate mastery of a skill/standard?
We will work as a team to flex students. We will reteach and re-assess skills when necessary.
