85% - Language Arts Skills - These 4-5 skills vary by marking period. Scores reported reflect the students current level of mastery.

Late Work Policy
Late work in the Language Arts Skills category should be submitted within 3 class days. Work must be received before the end of the class period, and partial credit will be awarded, as determined.
Workshop Model
The workshop model allows teachers to meet learners where they are as readers and writers. Each day, students will participate in a mini-lesson, independent work time, and sharing. During independent work time, the teacher meets with students in small groups or individually. This allows students to set personal goals for reading and writing and learn specific strategies to meet those goals. Students gain valuable feedback while conferring with the teacher and collaborating with peers, and the classroom functions as a community of learners working together to sharpen their craft.
