Meet the Team
Teacher
I’m thrilled to begin my second year of teaching after gaining valuable experience last year. I graduated from the University of North Texas in 2020 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and have completed my teaching certification through iTeach Texas. I am certified in EC-12 Special Education, EC-6 Core Subjects, Science of Teaching Reading, Professional Pedagogy and Responsibilities, and English as a Second Language.
As a neurodivergent individual who faced challenges in elementary school, I am deeply passionate about advocating for students with diverse needs. My mission is to create a classroom environment where every child feels valued, supported, and loved. I am committed to fostering an inclusive space where all students can thrive, build confidence, and develop a love for learning.
Outside of the classroom, you’ll find me spending time with my partner, Kael and my cat, Ellie. I enjoy playing Dungeons & Dragons with friends, attending Renaissance festivals, and embracing all things nerdy. I also love spending time outdoors, whether it’s hiking, camping, or just enjoying the fresh air.

Hello! My name is Mrs. Carla.
This is my seventh year working as an assistant at Cox, and I truly enjoy being part of this school community.
I’m originally from Mexico, where I earned a degree in International Business. I’m married and have a daughter and a son.
I’m excited to start this new school year and look forward to what’s ahead!
