About Me

I could not be more thrilled to be a part of the Deer Creek family! A proud and native Texan, I was born and raised in Houston and attended Baylor University (go Bears!). I started off teaching 9th grade English in the Sugar Land area until I got married, and my husband's job brought us to the beautiful city of Austin. I taught 6th grade for several years in Round Rock until I decided to work closer to home and joined Leander ISD - a move I will never, ever regret! I taught 6th grade at Leander Middle School and then at Cedar Park Middle School, which ended up being my all-time favorite! I am so thankful to be a part of the same community and to be a Colt now - and to be at the same school as my son, who will be in 4th grade this year!

Whenever I get a chance, I really enjoy spending time with my family, including our pet bird Snow Angel and our newest - and most mischievous - addition to the family, which is Gidget, a Golden Aussie. We go on bike rides fairly often, and I also enjoy reading, being outdoors, water skiing, going on walks, and going to the beach!
