Hello! My name is Mrs. Luksys, and I am thrilled to dive into my second year of teaching here at River Place. Teaching has been my dream for as long as I can remember, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have this opportunity to inspire and engage young minds. I couldn't be more excited about being your child's teacher this year.
Last year I was a first year teacher. I fell in love with teaching and had the best year. Before becoming a full-time teacher, I gained valuable experience through substitute teaching for the last two years. I learned to adapt quickly and connect with students in diverse classroom settings. I believe that every day is a new adventure in learning! I also have a 6th grader of my own, as well as a 8th grader. This means my world, and often my house, is filled with pre-teens and I love every bit of it.
I truly believe that books are magic! They transport us to different worlds and help us understand our own. I love sharing my passion for reading with my students and encouraging them to explore the wonders of literature. I find studying history fascinating and important. Understanding our past helps us navigate our present and shape our future. I look forward to sharing my enthusiasm for history with my students.
When I'm not in the classroom, you can find me spending time with my family and friends. I love going to Broadway shows and concerts. One of my favorite pastimes is hiking and camping with my family. This past summer, I had the amazing experience of visiting my 25th National Park, and I can't wait to share my adventures with my students.
I am excited to create a positive and engaging learning environment where my students can thrive. I look forward to getting to know each of you and making this school year a memorable one!
