This year will be my third year at Running Brushy Middle School. Before that I was a teacher in Austin ISD and served as a math teacher to our recent immigrant and refugee students. One of my favorite things in life is working with students from all over the world with diverse cultures and experiences. In our class we work on learning about how to read and understand math problems. I believe every student can be successful in math, and that the math classroom can be a joyful place!

I grew up in Southern California (where I was a fan of both the Dodgers and the Angels Baseball teams). After receiving my degree in Management from Cal Poly Pomona, I met my husband and we started our family in Chicago, where we then lived for 15 years. We came to Texas in 2002.
Two of my own children live in Arizona (where the Cubs hold their spring training camp). And, as you might be able to tell, my allegiance has changed. "Go Cubs Go, Go Cubs Go, Hey Chicago, what do you say, the Cubs are gonna win today." (Hopefully)
As my youngest started his 7th grade year, I began preparations to enter a new career field. I considered a couple of options, but landed on teaching because I love working with middle school students! When I was in 7th grade, my family moved to a new town. I remember how difficult it was to start at a new school and make new friends. I also remembered the teachers who believed in me and helped me to feel successful when things were not so easy. My goal as a teacher is to do the same for my math students.
And here is Max. He's an old guy now, but he is very loved. (and he's in charge)
